What Bridgefit shows you
- A realistic match level (Strong, Possible, Stretch or Unlikely) for a specific North American posting.
- Where you sit compared with the typical background of people already in that role: prior employers, degrees and years of experience at hire. Aggregate only, never individual names.
- A prioritized gap plan and similar roles ranked by fit.
Visa routes and what to plan for
- H-1B: India accounts for the largest share of H-1B approvals, but selection is by lottery, so plan for more than one cycle or a backup route.
- L-1 internal transfer: many US companies have large engineering and operations centers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Gurugram. A year with the company in India can open an L-1 path.
- Green card timing: employment-based green card backlogs for Indian nationals are very long. Weigh that if long-term US residence is your goal.
- Canada: Express Entry and the Global Talent Stream are common routes. Canadian permanent residence is often faster to reach than a US green card.
Time zones
- India is 9.5 to 10.5 hours ahead of New York and 12.5 to 13.5 hours ahead of San Francisco. Late-evening IST overlap is typical for distributed teams.
Reading the salary
- Bridgefit converts posted ranges to INR (shown in lakh) using a dated rate snapshot. Compare total compensation including equity, and remember US health insurance and cost of living.
